St Colmans 0-15  Fermoy 1-5

On Sunday last 24 Nov.St Colmans U/15 footballers qualified for the county final beating a stubborn Fermoy side. This is a finely balanced team with every one playing up to the standard required to win it out.Fermoy opened the scoring after 5 min, then St Colmans started to move the ball around and 3 quick points by Josh Beausang settled the lads.Further points from Eoghan Cronin and Shane Finn left us comfortable coming up to half time but then Fermoy struck with a goal of their own which is now a big score in Football.Further points from Josh left us leading at half time by 3 points.During the first half we were guilty of a lot of wides registering 10 in total and fermoy looking very dangerous on the break. The half back line and full back line gave a brilliant display of defending in this period.Fermoy started the stronger in the second half and brought the gap back to 1 point but that was to be the last time they scored as St Colmans rattled off 6 points without reply.Again every one worked for one another with at times 2 or 3 players moving in on any Fermoy player setting up an attack.Well Done to all involved and we look foward to the final.

Congratulation to Josh Beausang,Kevin Moyihan and Eoghan Cronin who were part of the winning Midleton CBS team to lift the Dean Ryan Cup at the weekend.

St Colmans win East Region 'A' Football Final

St Colmans 4-15  Aghabullogue 1-9

On the first real cold night of the year the amalagamated team of near neighbours

Russell Rovers and Cloyne namely St Colmans had a very convincing win in this

under 15 east region final played under lights in Cloughduv last monday evening.

Aghabullogue started off the match in a very positive frame of mind with some

great movement from their midfield up to and around their foward line, but never

gave any real threat to the St Colmans goal. After ten minutes or so Brian Walsh and

Shane Finn started to gain control in midfield for colmans and this started off some

great attacking play from Josh Beausang,Ross Walsh,Eoghan Cronin and Shane

O Neill. From this attacking play scores were to come freely with some superb points

from Josh Beausang.Further goals from Shane o Neill and Shane Finn put Colmans

in a comfortable position and looking good but lo and behold back came Aghabullogue

with a goal of their own and then were awarded a penalty. For me this was a turning point in the match, here we were to witness what i can only say was the save of the year

by Dan Ruddy in goals.Dan gave an outstanding of goal keeping for the entire match and as usual the St Colmans backs Andrew McMahon,Jake Cody,Luke Riordan were solid in defence with some great support play from Ben Daly,Sam Horgan and Eoghan o Sullivan.

Well done to all involved as we head towards the County semi-final V Fermoy next Sunday 24 November in Shanagarry.
